Last night I talked with Cassie, the blushing bride-to-be. It seems like everything is set for Saturday. The only thing she has been having nightmares about is SCUBA diving. She is NOT a fan of going underwater. Cory encouraged her to get SCUBA certified so they could dive on their honeymoon (the resort has free diving). She is not excited at all. I totally understand. I just think it's funny that she is about to get married, and that is what she is worried about.
She also mentioned that her grandparents called her a week or so ago to let her know that they won't be able to make her wedding. Whaa???!!! They claim they can't afford it. I know, I know. There's a recession going on and retired people are probably not doing so well. But, they do have three houses (paid off) and three cars (also paid off) and they have known about the wedding for months. Seems to me that they could have made it work. Cassie is hurt, but we both agreed that it is their loss and that the important thing is that she and Cory will be married. I just feel so bad.
Yesterday I had a scare... I logged into NWA to check our actual flight time. It claimed that I didn't have a reservation. Uh, oh. When we got home Ben checked and thankfully we still do have a reservation. Apparently my WorldPerks number wasn't on the reservation, that's why the computer couldn't find it. The weird thing is that before our cruise, the trip was on my account, under my number. Weird...

A Bride, A Prince and A Test
I know, I know. I haven't updated in forever...
Last weekend was my sister's wedding. It was a beautiful day, and she makes a beautiful bride. Everything worked out pretty well. Pictures were delayed a little bit, but in the end all the pictures were taken. The reception was beautiful too. I am still incredibly happy for my sister. Right now she and Pranob are probably on their honeymoon. (They had a reception in India today with Pranob's family and left sometime today for their honeymoon). I really hope that they have a nice and relaxing time. It can't be easy to essentially plan two weddings, one on the other side of the world.

After the wedding we went to see Prince Caspian with some of our friends (for those who don't know, the wedding was in the morning, so we were home and done by 5 pm). The movie was great. I really liked it. But it did make me realize that I really don't remember the books. I will be reading those this summer.
Last Wednesday was test three for the CPA. I think it went pretty well. Still haven't heard on my second test. I'm guessing that both results will be here towards the end of June. Keeping my fingers crossed for good news on both of them.

Spoiled!
This was a fun weekend. It started off by going to Chino Latino's. A coworker of mine had her birthday party there. I wasn't going to go because Ben was busy and I didn't really know anyone else that was going to be there (the birthday girl just started in my group a month or so ago). I ended up deciding to go since Ben was busy and I had nothing else to do on a Friday night. I dragged Dawn with me (thanks Dawn!) and we had a great time. It was our first time there and we both enjoyed it.
Saturday I went to the tea with my mom. It was very nice. Several ladies brought in their hat collections, so we all wore hats during the tea. Patsy, a missionary in Africa, shared what she is currently doing over there. It was very interesting. After the tea my mom and I went shopping! We started off at Ridgedale. And we didn't find a single thing! So we drove down to Von Maur in Eden Prairie. We found lots of dresses there! We finally decided on one and bought it. We were both super excited.
When I got home I discovered that Ben had done laundry! It was so nice to not have to worry about that. And then yesterday I was running errands and Ben made dinner (steak, mashed potatoes, rolls, veggies and wine). It was so good! I felt like a very spoiled girl.

Caught Up
Well, the weekend finally caught up with me. Last night I was planning on taking a short nap... I woke up three hours later! Very unproductive night. Oh, well. This weekend I should be able to catch up with the errands, work and studying I didn't get done.
Tomorrow I am going to a ladies tea with my mom. Afterwards we are (finally) going shopping for her dress for the wedding. I'm so excited. It should be fun.
Last Sunday Team Tortoise got together and started working on our costumes. We are going to look awesome! I'm so excited to run. I will be posting pictures after the race.
That's about it... Have a great weekend everyone!

Day Light Savings
This morning I wake up, look at the clock and decide I can sleep for a while longer as it's just after 7 (keep in mind that I'm a morning person, so 7 is a decent time to wake up). As I'm trying to get back to sleep, I keep thinking of everything I have to do this morning (think up a marriage "speech" for my sister's shower today, make a grocery list, study, get ready for church...) so at almost 8 I decide to get out of bed. Only to discover that my clock was wrong! Mine automatically adjusts for day light savings, but since they have changed when that happens, my clock is messed up. And since I'm a morning person, it is very hard for me to get back to sleep once I'm up. The funny thing is, Zoey must have "known" it was the wrong time... she just looked at me like, "why are we getting up already?"

A Moment and Dresses
These past few weeks seem to have been crazy busy for us. Last Sunday afternoon when I got back from David's, Ben and I were on the floor and just talked. It was so nice not to have other distractions (except the occasional Zoey kiss). It made me realize again how nice it is just to have someone to talk with. Even if it's about stupid stuff. Those ten minutes or so were the best of the week.
In other news, dresses were ordered last night! We tried them on again at the Wedding Chapel and we both still loved them. My mom was able to come too. She approved. I haven't decided yet if I want to post pictures of the dresses. I have been slated to make the veil for my sister... and possibly jewelry... We'll see how that goes.
Sara and Malachi are coming back to stay with us for the final days before the go back to Texas. I will post pictures of our visit as soon as I remember.

We found it!
This weekend was filled with looking at wedding and bridesmaids dresses with my sister.
On Saturday we started off going to the Bridal Center. I had found my bridesmaids dresses there. She was unusually decisive and we narrowed it down to two dresses for her and a couple for the maids. Only problem was that the dresses were a little more than she wanted to spend, and we would have to rush all the dresses ($100 fee for her $40 for the rest of us). Bummer.
Second stop was at the Wedding Chapel. We found another 10 or so dresses for her to try on. Again she was quick to decide what she didn't like. We both fell in love with one. And it was cheaper than the others. And we don't have to rush it! We found a bridesmaids dress that we liked too. And it came in all three colors that she is trying decide between (although, I guess if it only came in one color, then we wouldn't have to decide colors).
Sunday we went to David's. We didn't find anything. Well, there were a couple of dresses that were ok, but they cost more than the one we liked. Why bother?
We are going in on Wednesday to get measured and to order them. Yippee!!
